Kathmandu: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has directed the contractor company and the project implementation unit to expedite the retrofitting process of Singha Durbar's west façade.
During an onsite inspection of the ongoing retrofitting of Singha Durbar, PM Dahal expressed satisfaction at witnessing the earthquake-damaged heritage structure being restored to its original form. He directed the representatives of the central project implementation unit and Sharma New Technical JV, the contractor company, to ensure a swift completion of the work. He encouraged them to maintain the current momentum to achieve the project's timely completion.
During the inspection, PM Dahal engaged in discussions with project representatives, and he had the opportunity to view a 3D animation of the exterior and interior sections of Singha Durbar after the reconstruction. He took the occasion to express his gratitude to the engineers, technicians, and officials involved in the restoration efforts.
Minister for Urban Development, Sita Gurung, informed that the retrofitting of Singha Durbar has reached its final stages, with a focus now on intensifying interior works. Additionally, preparations are being made to establish the Office of the Prime Minister and Chief Secretary within the building's western section.
The central project implementation unit, operating under the Ministry of Urban Development, has been overseeing the retrofitting of Singha Durbar. The progress currently stands at around 95% completion.
